Selective colorimetric nano-sensing solution for the determination of phosphate ion in drinking water samples

Jamil K. Salem et al.

Summary: A new sensing solution for colorimetric determination of PO43- in drinking water samples has been developed using silver nanorods. Detection of PO43- is achieved by monitoring the color change from wine to yellow in the presence of high concentration of the ions. The colorimetric determination method demonstrated a limit of detection of 0.076 μM and 0.12 μM in the absence and presence of all interferences, respectively.

One-pot facile synthesis of enzyme-encapsulated Zn/Co-infinite coordination polymer nanospheres as a biocatalytic cascade platform for colorimetric monitoring of bacteria viability

Peipei Qiu et al.

Summary: A rapid colorimetric monitoring method for bacterial viability was developed using glucose oxidase-encapsulated Zn/Co-infinite coordination polymer (Zn/Co-ICP@GOx). The method demonstrated good multi-enzyme catalytic activity, stability, and selectivity, allowing for accurate quantification of bacterial viability by measuring absorbance at 510 nm. This method was successfully applied to different bacterial species in water and milk samples, providing a universal and promising strategy for real-time monitoring of bacterial viability within 40 minutes.
