Macrologistics instrumentation: Integrated national freight-flow and logistics cost measurement

The results show that South Africa's macrologistics costs exceed those of trading partners, with road transport being the main contributor. Assessment of International Trade-Related Transport CO2 Emissions-A Logistics Responsibility Perspective

Summary: International supply chains contribute significantly to CO2 emissions, but current methodologies for assessing freight transport emissions at the national level often overlook these international perspectives. This research introduces a novel approach using logistic responsibility to estimate and allocate CO2 emissions from international freight transport between trade countries, based on Incoterms(R) rules in sales contracts. The introduced RTE-index aims to enhance awareness of environmental considerations among trade parties and provide new insights for environmental transport policy actions.

Contribution of Climate-Smart Agriculture Technologies to Food Self-Sufficiency of Smallholder Households in Mali

Resilience and Conflict: Evidence from Mali

Summary: This paper explores the relationship between conflict and household resilience in Mali's Central Sahel cross-border area. Certain types of agricultural households are found to have a higher probability of exposure to conflict, while factors such as social networks, education, food consumption, and access to public transfers also play a role in coping mechanisms against conflict. Further analysis is needed to fully understand the contextual specificities of local resilience capacity and the drivers of conflict.

Spatiotemporal Response of Vegetation to Rainfall and Air Temperature Fluctuations in the Sahel: Case Study in the Forest Reserve of Fina, Mali

Summary: This study identified the vegetation characteristics in response to precipitation and temperature fluctuations in the Afircan Sahel region, demonstrating a stronger response of vegetation to climate fluctuations in agriculturally dominated land at a shorter time lag, and a stronger response in Bare-dominated land at a longer time lag. The findings highlight the modulation of vegetation response to climate fluctuations by land-use/cover dynamics.
