Effects of irradiation of ZnO/CdS/Cu2ZnSnSe4/Mo/glass solar cells by 10 MeV electrons on photoluminescence spectra

M. A. Sulimov et al.

Summary: Solar cells with the ZnO/CdS/Cu2ZnSnSe4/Mo/glass structure were studied using photoluminescence (PL) before and after irradiation with high energy electrons. The PL spectra showed dominant bands from different layers, and irradiation led to a decrease in intensity without affecting the band tails. The red shift rate of the dominant band increased after irradiation, suggesting the formation of deep non-radiative traps.

Sodium Effects on the Diffusion, Phase, and Defect Characteristics of Kesterite Solar Cells and Flexible Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 with Greater than 11% Efficiency

Kee-Jeong Yang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of Na doping on the efficiency of kesterite solar cells by applying a NaF layer at different positions within precursors. The NaF layer limits Zn diffusion, suppresses Cu-Zn alloy formation, and provides reactive Se and S to the absorber layer, reducing the impact of Na and improving efficiency. By applying NaF between the Zn layer and back contact and between the Cu and Sn layers, efficiency values of 11.16% and 11.19% are achieved for flexible CZTSSe solar cells.
