A nonadride derivative from the marine-derived fungus Aspergillus chevalieri PSU-AMF79

Baiq Nila Sari Ningsih et al.

Summary: A new nonadride enantiomer, ent-epiheveadride, and five known dioxopiperazine derivatives were isolated from the marine-derived fungus Aspergillus chevalieri PSU-AMF79. The absolute configuration of ent-epiheveadride was determined by comparing its specific rotation and electronic circular dichroism data with those of related known compounds. ent-epiheveadride exhibited antifungal activity against Cryptococcus neoformans and Candida albicans, and the known L-alanyl-L-tryptophan anhydride showed TMEM16A inhibitory activity.

Summary: A new indole diketopiperazine alkaloid, penilline D (1), was isolated from the Antarctic fungus Penicillium sp. SCSIO 05705, along with other indole alkaloids, meroterpenoids, and butenolide derivatives. Compound 5 exhibited moderate cytotoxic activity against the 143B cell line, while compound 6 showed strong inhibitory activity against AChE.

Novel indole diketopiperazine stereoisomers from a marine-derived fungus Aspergillus sp

Xinyang Li et al.

Summary: Four dimeric diketopiperazine stereoisomers, including two new ones, have been isolated from the culture broth of a marine-derived fungus Aspergillus sp. Z3. The structures and configurations of the new compounds were determined using various analytical methods. The cytotoxicity of these compounds against prostate cancer cells was also tested.

Indole diketopiperazine alkaloids from the deep-sea-derived fungus Aspergillus sp. FS445

Zhaoming Liu et al.

Summary: Twelve indole diketopiperazine alkaloids (1-12), including four new ones aspechinulins A-D (1, 3, 5 and 12), were isolated from the deep-sea-derived fungus Aspergillus sp. FS445. Their structures were determined through spectroscopic analysis and the absolute configurations were confirmed through experimental ECD data and quantum chemical calculations. Compounds 1, 3 and 5 are the first examples of indole diketopiperazine derivatives constructing a C-5 unit at 11-NH through an imide linkage.

Li-Hong Yan et al.

Summary: In this study, two indolediketopiperazine alkaloids containing an unprecedented spiro-[bicyclo[2.2.2]octane-diketopiperazine] skeleton were isolated from a deep-sea cold-seep-derived fungus. The structures of these compounds were determined through various methods. Both compounds exhibited significant in vivo proangiogenic activity in transgenic zebrafish.

Prenylation and Dehydrogenation of a C2-Reversely Prenylated Diketopiperazine as a Branching Point in the Biosynthesis of Echinulin Family Alkaloids in Aspergillus ruber

Jonas Nies et al.

Summary: The echinulin family alkaloids can be grouped into three series based on the number of exo double bonds adjacent to the diketopiperazine core structure. Heterologous expression of putative echinulin biosynthetic genes in Aspergillus nidulans led to the production of echinulin and neoechinulin A as major products, with neoechinulin B not observed in the process. The results of experiments confirmed that EchP450 catalyzes the formation of a double bond between C10 and C11, while EchPT2 has high activity in prenylating preechinulin.

Alkylated Salicylaldehydes and Prenylated Indole Alkaloids from the Endolichenic Fungus Aspergillus chevalieri and Their Bioactivities

Li-Bin Lin et al.

Summary: Sixteen metabolites, including seven C-7-alkylated salicylaldehyde derivatives and nine prenylated indole alkaloids, were isolated from the endolichenic fungus Aspergillus chevalieri SQ-8. Some of these compounds exhibited potent antibacterial, antineuroinflammatory, and antioxidant activities, with asperglaucins A and B showing potential as lead compounds for agrochemical bactericides. Additionally, compounds 6 and 10 demonstrated significant inhibition of nitric oxide production and phenolics 3-5 displayed antioxidative effects, suggesting the strain SQ-8 as a novel resource for bioactive metabolites.
