No Correlation between Biofilm Formation, Virulence Factors, and Antibiotic Resistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa: Results from a Laboratory-Based In Vitro Study

Summary: The study found a relationship between biofilm formation and expression of virulence factors with multidrug resistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. However, there were no significant differences in virulence factor expression between multidrug-resistant and non-multidrug-resistant isolates, and no correlations were seen between the rate of biofilm formation, pigment production, or motility.
