Effect of layering sequence on mechanical properties of woven kenaf/jute fabric hybrid laminated microwave-processed composites

Manoj Kumar Singh et al.

Summary: In this research, multi-layered composites of pure and hybrid woven fibre mats were fabricated using a microwave-assisted compression moulding process. Different hybrid composites were produced by stacking different fibre mats and matrix materials. It was found that the stacking sequence had a minimal effect on the flexural strength, tensile strength, and impact strength of the composites.

Influence of Stacking Sequence and Fiber Content on the Mechanical Properties of Natural and Synthetic Fibers Reinforced Penta-Layered Hybrid Composites

V Mohanavel et al.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of fiber content, stacking pattern, and sequence on the mechanical properties of hybrid composites. It was found that the presence of glass fiber mats during the stacking process has a significant effect on the mechanical properties of the composites. The results showed changes in strength and toughness depending on the composition and arrangement of fibers in the composites.

Effect of Stacking Sequences, Fabric Orientations, and Chemical Treatment on the Mechanical Properties of Hybrid Woven Jute-Ramie Composites

C. Tezara et al.

Summary: The research analyzed the effect of stacking sequences, fibre orientations, and alkali treatment on the mechanical properties of hybrid jute and ramie reinforced vinyl ester composites. It was found that composites with 0 degrees fibre orientation showed significantly higher tensile and flexural strength, and combining fibre orientation with lower alkali treatment concentration can improve the mechanical properties of the composites.

Effects of stacking sequence of pineapple leaf-flax reinforced hybrid composite laminates on mechanical characterization and moisture resistant properties

Santosh Kumar et al.

Summary: The study concluded that stacking sequence significantly affects the performance of pineapple leaf fiber and flax fiber composite materials. Increasing flax fiber content improves mechanical and moisture resistant properties, while increasing pineapple leaf fiber content enhances elongation and flexibility. Outer layer flax fiber configuration enhances tensile, flexural, impact, and moisture properties, while inner layer flax fibers improve shear properties.

The Effects of Stacking Sequence on the Tensile and Flexural Properties of Kenaf/Jute Fibre Hybrid Composites

T. Khan et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the effects of stacking sequence of kenaf and jute fibers on hybrid composites, showing that K/J/K composites exhibited higher tensile and flexural properties with better fiber/matrix interfacial bonding compared to J/K/J composites. The layering sequence plays an important role in the mechanical performance of hybrid composites for potential engineering applications like aircraft interiors.

Tensile and Bending Strength Analysis of Ramie Fiber and Woven Ramie Reinforced Epoxy Composite

Zulkifli Djafar et al.

Summary: The study reveals that the number of woven ramie layers and the weight of the ramie fiber greatly impact the tensile and bending strengths of the composite. The highest strengths were observed in the five layers of woven ramie composite and the E type of ramie fiber.

The Effect of Hybridisation on Mechanical Properties and Water Absorption Behaviour of Woven Jute/Ramie Reinforced Epoxy Composites

Cionita Tezara et al.

Summary: This study investigates the mechanical properties of epoxy composites reinforced by jute-ramie hybridisation, finding that the hybrid composite outperforms pure jute composites. However, exposure to aqueous environments leads to a reduction in mechanical properties, although they remain higher than those of pure epoxy resin. The appropriate stacking sequence and material selection significantly impact mechanical properties and water absorption behavior of the composites.
