NDVI-based ecological dynamics of forest vegetation and its relationship to climate change in Romania during 1987-2018

Remus Pravalie et al.

Summary: This study analyzed recent ecological changes in forests across Romania in relation to climate dynamics. The results showed a general greening trend in forests nationally, particularly in the Carpathians region, while a browning trend was found in the Extra-Carpathians region. The analysis also suggested that warming in the Carpathians may be driving the forest greening, while increased evapotranspiration may contribute to forest browning in lowland areas.

Climate and land use influences on changing spatiotemporal patterns of mountain vegetation cover in southwest China

Shanshan Jiang et al.

Summary: The study found significant differences in the impact of elevation on vegetation cover and climate change, with increasing vegetation cover in low elevations primarily due to reforestation and improved agricultural productivity, while vegetation cover in high elevations decreased under climate warming.

Spatio-temporal variation characteristics of NDVI and its response to climate on the Loess Plateau from 1985 to 2015

Peng Li et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the spatial-temporal variation characteristics of NDVI on the Loess Plateau and its response to climate using data from GIMMS NDVI 3g and five climatic factors. The results showed an overall upward trend in vegetation at the annual scale, with severe degradation in certain regions. The correlation between NDVI and atmospheric pressure was negative, while it was positive for the other four climatic factors. The study also found different impacts of climatic, topographical, and geographical elements under different land uses on the spatial distribution of NDVI.
