Clinical-Grade Human Embryonic Stem Cell-Derived Mesenchymal Stromal Cells Ameliorate the Progression of Osteoarthritis in a Rat Model

Dan Xing et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that multiple injections of ES-MSCs can improve osteoarthritis in a rat model. The repeated doses group showed more proteoglycan and less cartilage loss, along with lower Mankin scores, indicating the potential of ES-MSCs as a regenerative therapy for OA.

Human Adipose Tissue-Derived Mesenchymal Stromal Cells Inhibit CD4+T Cell Proliferation and Induce Regulatory T Cells as Well as CD127 Expression on CD4+CD25+T Cells

Agnese Fiori et al.

Summary: Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) have immunomodulatory effects on various immune cells. In this study, human adipose tissue-derived MSC (ASC) were found to inhibit CD4 + T cell proliferation, induce Treg cells, and modulate cytokine secretion, suggesting a potential role in immune regulation. These findings highlight the complex interplay between ASC and CD4 + T cells.

Altered glycosylation of IgG4 promotes lectin complement pathway activation in anti-PL A2R1-associated membranous nephropathy

George Haddad et al.

Summary: In primary membranous nephropathy, anti-PLA2R1 IgG4 can induce podocyte injury by activating the lectin pathway. The study results indicate that aberrantly glycosylated IgG4 directly binds to mannose-binding lectin and induces proteolysis of synaptopodin and NEPH1 proteins through two distinct proteolytic pathways.

Therapeutic Applications of Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

Shengnan Yang et al.

Summary: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive lung disease with unknown causes, and currently the only medications that can slow down the progression of the disease and improve survival rate are pirfenidone and nintedanib. The use of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) provides a new hope for treating interstitial lung disease, but optimal treatment protocols are still lacking.

Infusion of hESC derived Immunity-and-matrix regulatory cells improves cognitive ability in early-stage AD mice

Jing Liu et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that peripheral administration of IMRCs significantly improved cognitive deficits in early-stage AD mice through tail vein injection, while no significant changes were observed in the ICV group. IMRCs inhibited inflammatory responses and reduced microglial activation in vivo.
