Kynurenine pathway in kidney diseases

Izabela Zakrocka et al.

Summary: Kidney diseases are increasingly common among elderly patients, but accurate and rapid diagnosis remains a challenge, with a lack of data on diagnostic and prognostic markers. The KYN pathway activity is highly influenced by the immune system, leading to disturbances in kidney diseases.

Plasma markers in pulmonary hypertension subgroups correlate with patient survival

T. Koudstaal et al.

Summary: This study revealed elevated plasma levels of inflammatory mediators in different PAH subgroups and CTEPH at baseline and at 1-year follow-up, with CXCL9 and IL-8 potentially being prognostic markers for CTEPH patients. Multivariate analysis clustered PH patients based on inflammatory mediators and clinical parameters, separating patients with < 3 years and > 3 years survival.
