Fabrication of silicon nanohorns via soft lithography technique for photoelectrochemical application

Sakshum Khanna et al.

Summary: Water splitting for H-2 production by absorbing sunlight is a widely used technique to address energy crisis and environmental problems caused by fossil fuels. This study introduces a method to fabricate ordered Silicon nanohorns (SiNHs) using metal nano-gap template on Si, leading to improved photo-electrochemical properties and enhanced trapping of carriers. The resulting SiNHs show enhanced light absorption and have potential applications in optical devices, sensors, and hydrogen evolution.

Simultaneous removal of Cu(II) and reactive green 6 dye from wastewater using immobilized mixed fungal biomass and its recovery

A. Saravanan et al.

Summary: The study investigated the use of immobilized fungal biomass for the simultaneous removal of Cu(II) ion and Reactive Green 6 dye from water. Optimal conditions included 25 mg/L of adsorbate concentration, 60 minutes equilibrium time, 2.5 g of fungal biomass, temperature of 303 K, and pH of 5.0. Langmuir isotherm model showed high correlation, while pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order kinetics were found to be suitable for Cu(II) ion and Reactive Green dye removal.
