Reservoir management under different operating water levels, operation policies and climate change conditions

Amin Hassanjabbar et al.

Summary: The study examined the Seimare-Karkheh hydropower reservoir cascade in the Karkheh River basin southwest of Iran, evaluating the impacts of changing reservoir operating water levels on hydropower generation and downstream environmental requirements under different climate change conditions. Adjusting the operating water levels had significant effects on hydropower production and downstream hydrological alterations, with reductions in production and alterations depending on the policies adopted.

Trend Analysis and Variability of Air Temperature and Rainfall in Regional River Basins

Benjamin Nnamdi Ekwueme et al.

Summary: Global warming and climate variability are increasingly becoming prominent environmental issues in the 21st century, especially in developing countries. This study analyzed the variability of air temperature and rainfall in the five states of South-Eastern region of Nigeria, finding a decreasing trend in rainfall and an increasing trend in air temperature across the study areas.

Statistical Significance Assessment of Streamflow Elasticity of Major Rivers

Liaqat Ali Shah et al.

Summary: The study assesses the impact of precipitation and air temperature on streamflow, finding a positive correlation between precipitation and streamflow, and both positive and negative correlations between air temperature and streamflow. Results indicate streamflow is more sensitive to air temperature than to precipitation.
