Lisa Bowleg et al.

Summary: The purpose of this review is to examine the recent theoretical and empirical literature on structural racism, social determinants of health frameworks in the context of HIV prevention and treatment, and criticism of the national responses to the US epidemic. The findings indicate that addressing structural racism is crucial in ending the HIV epidemic in the US, and recent studies highlight the barriers rooted in structural racism that hinder HIV prevention.

Summary: This paper reviews subjective and objective methods for monitoring PrEP adherence, including self-report and drug level monitoring. Objective monitoring using DBS and urine provides a more accurate picture of adherence compared to subjective and non-biomarker objective methods.
