Summary: The study evaluated the changes in surface topography and element proportion of clinically failed implants after different debridement methods. PEEK tip ultrasonic scaling showed better elimination of visible contamination, while glycine powder air polishing combined with EDTA treatment was more effective in exposing the original surface element distribution. Both methods have their advantages in decontamination, but neither could completely restore the surface to its original state.
