Controlling the formation of encapsulated gold nanoparticles for highly reactive catalysts in the homocoupling of phenylboronic acid

Wongi Jang et al.

Summary: In this study, the reduction of gold ions using mild reducing agents in the presence of poly(n-isopropylacrylamide) particles was investigated. The controlled formation of physically encapsulated gold nanoparticles was achieved through the manipulation of concentration ratios. The encapsulated gold nanoparticles showed high selectivity and the rate of reaction was influenced by the encapsulation method.

Ionic Liquid-Modified Gold Nanoparticle-Based Colorimetric Sensor for Perchlorate Detection via Anion-it Interaction

Busra Keskin et al.

Summary: A rapid and convenient nanoparticle-based colorimetric sensor was developed for determining the propellant oxidant, ammonium perchlorate. The sensor utilized modified gold nanoparticles with an ionic liquid to stabilize the nanosensor. The sensing principle was based on observing the red shift in the surface plasmon resonance band of AuNPs leading to NP aggregation, allowing for the determination of ammonium perchlorate concentration.

Hyaluronate macromolecules assist bioreduction (AuIII to Au0) and stabilization of catalytically active gold nanoparticles for azo contaminated wastewater treatment

Yi Xiong et al.

Summary: The opto-electrical features of gold nanoparticles are widely applied in high-tech fields, but the agglomeration tendency of colloidal AuNPs hinders their applications. By synthesizing AuNPs through an eco-friendly method and stabilizing them with sodium hyaluronate, the optimization of properties and synthesis parameters was achieved.

Potential application of Allium Cepa seeds as a novel biosorbent for efficient biosorption of heavy metals ions from aqueous solution

Ziviqar Sheikh et al.

Summary: The study investigated the potential of ACSB as a biosorbent for removing heavy metals such as Cr(VI), Cd(II), Zn(II), Cu(II) and Pb(II), finding that ACSB is more effective in removing Pb(II), Cu(II), and Cd(II). By optimizing parameters such as pH, time, dosage, and initial metal concentration, the study identified the conditions under which maximum removal efficiency could be achieved. The results also showed that ACSB followed a pseudo 2nd order sorption kinetics for the removal of metal ions.
