Achieving simultaneous Cu particles anchoring in meso-porous TiO2 nanofabrication for enhancing photo-catalytic CO2 reduction through rapid charge separation

Jinyan Xiong et al.

Summary: A facile solvo-thermal approach was used to prepare TiO2 nanoaggregates with copper particles, which could convert CO2 into CH4 and CO products under simulated solar irradiation. The optimal composite consisting of TiO2 supported with 5% Cu exhibited significantly higher CH4 and CO yields compared to pure TiO2. The involvement of Cu particles facilitated efficient charge separation and improved the photo-catalytic performance.

Activating Co nanoparticles on graphitic carbon nitride by tuning the Schottky barrier via P doping for the efficient dehydrogenation of ammonia-borane

Shao-Hong Xu et al.

Summary: A highly active Mott-Schottky nanocatalyst was constructed by embedding Co nanoparticles into phosphorus-doped graphitic carbon nitrides, allowing for enhanced dehydrogenation of ammonia-borane. The study demonstrated that phosphorus doping can effectively decrease the work function of g-C3N4 and elevate the conduction band edge potential, providing a simple way to tune the Schottky barrier of the catalyst. This approach resulted in a significantly high turnover frequency for the dehydrogenation reaction, showcasing the potential of metal/g-C3N4 nanocatalysts with tunable Schottky barriers in catalysis.
