Kinesin family member 3A stimulates cell proliferation, migration, and invasion of bladder cancer cells in vitro and in vivo

Qingchun Zhou et al.

Summary: The study reveals that KIF3A is highly expressed in bladder cancer, correlated with clinical features and associated with poor prognosis. The findings demonstrate that inhibition of KIF3A can result in cell cycle arrest in bladder cancer cells in vitro and impede tumor growth.

Membrane vesicles nanotheranostic systems: sources, engineering methods, and challenges

Weidong Nie et al.

Summary: Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are cell secretory components with long circulation, good biocompatibility, and ability to cross physiologic barriers. Engineering modification is needed to enhance their stability, biological activity, and lesion-targeting capacity. Future clinical applications of EVs face challenges of limited accumulation at lesion sites and compromised therapy efficiency.

M1 macrophages-derived extracellular vesicles elevate microRNA-185-3p to aggravate the development of atherosclerosis in ApoE-/- mice by inhibiting small mothers against decapentaplegic 7

Kun Li et al.

Summary: The study showed that EVs derived from M1 macrophages promoted the development of atherosclerosis in ApoE(-/-) mice by upregulating miR-185-3p and suppressing Smad7. This research reveals a potential mechanism for AS progression through the negative regulation of Smad7 by miR-185-3p.

Mesenchymal stem cells-derived exosomal microRNA-139-5p restrains tumorigenesis in bladder cancer by targeting PRC1

Yuefeng Jia et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated that miR-139-5p exosomes from MSCs could be transferred to bladder cancer cells to inhibit tumorigenesis by regulating PRC1. PRC1 was upregulated in bladder cancer tissues and cells, and silencing PRC1 hindered cell proliferation, migration, and invasion abilities. Additionally, miR-139-5p downregulated PRC1 expression, thereby ameliorating tumorigenic characteristics of bladder cancer cells.
