Multifunctional Vortex Beam Generation by a Dynamic Reflective Metasurface

Summary: A concept of multifunctional vortex beam generation using a dynamic reflective metasurface has been proposed in this study, which can control OAM mode and observe rotational Doppler effect, demonstrating two different functionalities. The effectiveness of the proposed metasurface has been validated through both simulated and measured results, suggesting potential applications in OAM multiplexing communications and harmonics manipulation by rotational Doppler effect.

VO2-Based Switchable Metasurface With Broadband Photonic Spin Hall Effect and Absorption

Summary: This study presents a terahertz switchable metasurface with bifunctional properties: it can realize the photonic spin Hall effect for CP waves when VO2 is metallic, and behaves as an absorber when VO2 is insulator. The design exhibits different absorption peaks at different frequencies, and absorption bandwidth and intensity can be dynamically tuned by changing the Fermi energy level of graphene.
