A novel technique for condition monitoring of metal oxide surge arrester based on fifth harmonic resistive current

Abdullah Munir et al.

Summary: This study introduces the fifth harmonic of resistive current (I-R5th) as a new ageing indicator for metal oxide surge arresters (MOSA), showing similar sensitivity towards ageing as compared to the third harmonic current. Additionally, it has been found that the variation in I-R5th with the fifth harmonic voltage is smaller than the variation in I-R3rd with the third harmonic voltage.

Multi-information Fusion Fault Diagnosis Based on KNN and Improved Evidence Theory

Yuwei Liu et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a new fault diagnosis method that combines K-Nearest Neighbor and improved Dempster-Shafer evidence theory. Through experimental testing on rotor test bench data, it is proven that the proposed KNN-DS method outperforms the improved evidence theory method proposed by Murphy in terms of diagnosis accuracy.

Leakage current characteristics and ageing assessment technology of roof arrester under ultra harmonics overvoltage

Jixing Sun et al.

Summary: This study investigates the overheating issue of roof arresters on high-speed trains under Ultra Harmonics Overvoltage, finding that the total leakage current is proportional to the amplitude and frequency of the applied voltage. The internal resistance of the arrester is independent of the voltage amplitude but decreases with frequency. The main cause of thermal breakdown of the arrester valve under high-frequency harmonic voltage is the increase in heating power.

An Adaptive Localized Decision Variable Analysis Approach to Large-Scale Multiobjective and Many-Objective Optimization

Lianbo Ma et al.

Summary: This article proposes an adaptive localized decision variable analysis approach under the decomposition-based framework to solve large-scale multiobjective and many-objective optimization problems. The algorithm incorporates the guidance of reference vectors into control variable analysis and optimizes decision variables using an adaptive strategy. Experimental results validate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed algorithm on the large-scale multiobjective and MaOPs.

Response of 10-kV Metal-Oxide Surge Arresters Excited by Nanosecond-Level Transient Electromagnetic Disturbances

Yi Zhou et al.

Summary: The study investigated the performance of three types of 10 kV MOAs under TED with different rise times, demonstrating that the rise time of TED has a significant impact on the peak voltage and impedance converting behaviors of MOAs. The findings suggest that a circuit model of 10 kV MOAs under nanosecond-level TED can be applied in insulation coordination and design of protective devices against TED.

Optimizing weighted lazy learning and Naive Bayes classification using differential evolution algorithm

Yu Bai et al.

Summary: Naive Bayes is a well-known classification algorithm that performs well in high-dimensional problems such as text classification, but its assumption of attribute independence is often violated in real-world applications. Various techniques have been developed to improve the performance of Naive Bayes, with one alternative strategy being to apply Naive Bayes only over neighboring instances to reduce variance.
