Comparative evaluation of different bioremediation techniques for crude oil-contaminated soil

M. G. Silva et al.

Summary: This study aimed to find the most efficient treatment strategy for remediation of sandy soil artificially contaminated with light crude oil using bioremediation techniques. The results showed that the combination of adding nutrients and biosurfactant significantly improved the removal efficiency of OG's, AHs, and PAHs.

Ecotoxicity of triclosan in soil: an approach using different species

Paula Florencio Ramires et al.

Summary: Triclosan, widely used in personal care products, was found to have negative impacts on seedling growth, germination, root growth, and mortality of edaphic animals in this study. Even at low concentrations, Triclosan's ecotoxicological effects were observed in a multispecies system, highlighting its potential to compromise ecosystem services.
