Novel Mn-Ce bi-oxides loaded on 3D monolithic nickel foam for low-temperature NH3-SCR de-NOx: Preparation optimization and reaction mechanism

Shuquan Ni et al.

Summary: This study synthesized Mn-Ce bi-oxides catalysts using the superior citrate method for the selective catalytic reduction of NO by NH3. The presence of surface-active oxygen and oxidized Mn4+ species promotes Fast-SCR reactions, while unsaturated Ni atoms and Ce3+ species improve the redox performance. The coexistence mechanisms of Fast-SCR reactions and E-R pathways were observed, possibly due to the presence of Bronsted sites at low temperature.

SO2- and H2O-Tolerant Catalytic Reduction of NOxat a LowTemperature via Engineering Polymeric VOxSpecies by CeO2

Weiwei Hu et al.

Summary: Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx using V2O5-based oxide catalysts is a widely used technique, but reducing NOx efficiently at low temperatures in the presence of SO2 and H2O remains a challenge. In this study, engineering polymeric VOx species on CeO2 was found to enable SO2- and H2O-tolerant catalytic reduction of NOx at low temperatures. The polymeric VOx species were formed through the interaction between Ce and V species, and played a role in tuning the SCR reaction. In the presence of SO2 and H2O, the polymeric VOx species remained largely unaffected, while the formation of sulfate species on Ce sites promoted NH4+ adsorption, the reaction between gaseous NO and NH4+, and the decomposition of ammonium bisulfate.

Influence of phosphorus on the NH3-SCR performance of CeO2-TiO2 catalyst for NOx removal from co-incineration flue gas of domestic waste and municipal sludge

Jun Cao et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of phosphorus on the NH3-SCR performance and physicochemical properties of CeO2-TiO2 catalyst. The results show that phosphorus decreases the NH3-SCR activity and suppresses the formation of NOx and N2O caused by NH3 over-oxidation. The introduction of phosphorus disrupts the catalyst's structure, limiting the transfer of electrons, the relative contents of Ce3+, and the surface adsorbed oxygen, leading to the inhibition of NH3 over-oxidation.
