Effect of aluminum and sodium on the sorption of water and methanol in microporous MFI-type zeolites and mesoporous SBA-15 materials

Zheng Li et al.

Summary: The study investigated the surface sites and interactions of water and methanol on MFI-type zeolites and mesoporous SBA-15 using solid-state NMR spectroscopy, finding differences in adsorption behavior. Strong adsorption sites for water and methanol were observed on aluminum-containing Na-ZSM-5, while minimal interactions were found on aluminum-containing Na-[Al]SBA-15, with adsorption mainly occurring at SiOH groups influenced by distant framework aluminum species.

Effect of the titanium incorporation method on the morphology and HDS activity of supported ternary Ni-Mo-W/SBA-16 catalysts

M. O. Alonso-Perez et al.

Summary: A series of trimetallic Ni-Mo-W catalysts supported on cubic mesoporous silica modified with Ti were prepared to study the effect of Ti incorporation method on the physical and chemical properties. The catalysts prepared by sol-gel method demonstrated to be more effective toward sulfur removal from dibenzothiophene compared to the catalyst modified by post-synthesis method.

Synergistic Effect in Vapor Phase Hydrodeoxygenation on USY Zeolite Supported Ir-Pt Catalyst: Role of Pentacoordinated Al3+ Ions

Cristina Loricera et al.

Summary: The positive role of pentacoordinated Al-V sites in the catalyst behavior was evidenced in the vapor phase hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of phenol. The USY zeolite was more efficient than ZSM-5, and the superior activity of Ir-Pt/USY was attributed to the cumulative effects of various factors working in synergy.

Short-channel mesoporous SBA-15 silica modified by aluminum grafting as a support for CoRu Fischer-Tropsch synthesis catalysts

Sophia Mohammadnasabomran et al.

Summary: Grafting aluminum onto SBA-15 improves Co dispersion and results in a more homogeneous distribution of metal species. However, the Al-grafted CoRu/Al-SBA-15 catalyst shows lower activity in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis compared to the all-silica CoRu/SBA-15 counterpart, but exhibits enhanced selectivity towards liquid hydrocarbons.
