Meta-QTLs, ortho-MQTLs and candidate genes for the traits contributing to salinity stress tolerance in common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Neeraj Pal et al.

Summary: A meta-analysis of QTLs associated with salinity tolerance in wheat identified 100 stable and consistent meta-QTLs, with 81 candidate genes identified within high-confidence MQTL regions. The average confidence interval of the resulted MQTLs was reduced by 4.16 folds compared to the initial QTLs, indicating a high level of reliability in these loci. Additionally, ortho-MQTL analysis revealed six orthologous MQTLs among wheat, rice, and barley, providing insights into shared genetic mechanisms for salinity tolerance across these cereals.
