Knot selection for low-rank kriging models of spatial risk in case-control studies

Joseph Boyle et al.

Summary: The selection of knots has a significant impact on the performance of low-rank kriging models in case-control studies. By comparing different methods of knot selection through simulation studies, it is found that the methods considering the locations of cases outperform the commonly used method, and the Teitz and Bart heuristic method has the highest ability to detect zones of elevated risk.
