Preparation of Cr-doped BaTiO3 near infrared reflection pigment powder and its anti-aging performance for acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate

Mengmeng Tian et al.

Summary: BaCrxTi1-xO3 pigment powders synthesized by acrylamide modified sol-gel technique have small particle sizes and color change from yellow to yellow-green. Charge transfer of Ti 3d <-> O 2p and Ti 3d <-> Cr 3d mainly contributes to the color change. These pigments demonstrate good performance in NIR solar reflectance and aging resistance of ASA plastics.

Robust superhydrophobic surface for anti-icing and cooling performance: Application of fluorine-modified TiO2 and fumed SiO2

Yanli Qi et al.

Summary: Flexibly obtained micron/nano-structures and surface layer enriched with organic groups through non solvent induced phase separation method. Combination of fluorine-modified titanium dioxide (TiO2) and fumed silicon (SiO2) contributed to superhydrophobic surface with water contact angle of 161 degrees and freezing delay time of about 93 min. The superhydrophobic surface with desirable anti-icing property combined with excellent reflective performance was used to fabricate well-designed cool materials with high solar reflectance and lower cooling property compared to pristine polymer matrix.

Estimating thermal insulation performance and weather resistance of acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate modified with high solar reflective pigments: Pr3+-/Cr3+- doped BaTiO3

Mengmeng Tian et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the thermal insulation potential and weather resistance of modified ASA resin as building materials, showing that adding specific pigments can significantly improve the NIR solar reflectance of ASA, lower the inner surface temperature, save heat, and enhance the weather resistance of the materials.

Bio-inspired structure using random, three-dimensional pores in the polymeric matrix for daytime radiative cooling

Zhangbin Yang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated a novel passive radiative cooling design by building random, three-dimensional pores in a polymer matrix via phase separation. By controlling the compatibility between the shape-supporting matrix and soluble polymers, the macroporous polymer sheets showed high solar reflectance and tunable thermal emissivity, resulting in significantly lower outdoor temperatures.
