Highly Stable Covalent Organic Framework Nanosheets as a New Generation of Electrochemiluminescence Emitters for Ultrasensitive MicroRNA Detection

Jin-Ling Zhang et al.

Summary: A novel pyrene-based sp(2) carbon-conjugated covalent organic framework nanosheet was constructed, exhibiting strong and stable electrochemiluminescence emission for the first time. The Py-sp(2)c-CON showed higher ECL intensity and efficiency compared to other materials, and when combined with Bu4NPF6, the ECL signal was further amplified, allowing for the detection of microRNA-21 with broad linear response range and low detection limit. Overall, this work demonstrates the potential of sp(2) carbon COFs as high-performance ECL emitters with expanded applications in biosensing.

Dual Intrareticular Oxidation of Mixed-Ligand Metal-Organic Frameworks for Stepwise Electrochemiluminescence

Da Zhu et al.

Summary: This work introduces a mixed-ligand metal-organic framework for self-enhanced electrochemiluminescence by integrating two ligands that can be oxidized and react with each other on a metal node. The incorporation of both luminophore and coreactant into the MOF framework enhances ECL intensity and allows for stepwise ECL emission, enriching the fundamentals and applications of ECL systems.

When Conductive MOFs Meet MnO2: High Electrochemical Energy Storage Performance in an Aqueous Asymmetric Supercapacitor

Huiyu Duan et al.

Summary: Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) with good electrical conductivity, such as conductive MOFs (c-MOFs), exhibit promising electrochemical performance, especially when combined with transition-metal oxides (TMOs) to improve capacitance and rate performance. The assembly of MnO2@Ni-HHTP nanoarrays as positive electrode material in an aqueous asymmetric supercapacitor shows high energy density, outstanding rate performance, and superior cycle stability, indicating a potential class of electrode materials for energy storage and conversion.

Highly efficient electrochemiluminescence resonance energy transfer material constructed from an AIEgen-based 2D ultrathin metal-organic layer for thrombin detection†

Yang Yang et al.

Summary: A facile strategy was proposed to design a highly efficient electrochemiluminescence resonance energy transfer (ECL-RET) system by using an AIEgen-based 2D ultrathin metal-organic layer (MOL) to coordinatively immobilize energy donors and acceptors simultaneously. The precise and short distance between adjacent donor-acceptor pairs was key to achieving high ECL-RET efficiency.
