Aggression Detection in Social Media from Textual Data Using Deep Learning Models

Umair Khan et al.

Summary: It is undeniable that people rely excessively on social media for communication, but the lack of appropriate barriers allows unknown individuals to send irrelevant or aggressive messages, which ruins the purpose of effective communication. As social media's popularity grows, its impact on society shifts from positive to negative. To address cyber aggression, researchers propose a method that combines emotional features and a deep neural network, achieving significant improvement in detection accuracy compared to existing models.

Hybrid Feature Reduction Using PCC-Stacked Autoencoders for Gold/Oil Prices Forecasting under COVID-19 Pandemic

Nagwan Abdel Samee et al.

Summary: The financial markets have been affected by the spread of COVID-19, leading to a decrease in oil and gold prices. In this study, a hybrid method combining Deep Autoencoders and Pearson Correlation Coefficient analysis is used to select key features for accurate forecasting models of gold and oil prices during the pandemic. The hybrid approach, utilizing a 2-Stage Stacked Autoencoder and Neural Network regression model, outperforms existing methods such as ARIMA and ML based regression models in terms of accuracy and mean absolute error.

Prediction of the Judd-Ofelt Parameters of Dy3+-Doped Lead Borosilicate Using Artificial Neural Network

Amel A. Alhussan et al.

Summary: Developments in glass research require mimicking the optical properties of glass materials before melting the raw materials. In this work, an artificial neural network (ANN) was used to train and predict parameters of various glasses, resulting in predictions very close to experimental measurements. The ANN model was then used to predict parameters of newly prepared glasses, revealing changes in the glass structure caused by the addition of certain substances. Therefore, using an ANN to predict parameters of rare-earth-doped glasses is crucial for studying luminescent materials.

Mitigating the Multicollinearity Problem and Its Machine Learning Approach: A Review

Jireh Yi-Le Chan et al.

Summary: Technological advancements have facilitated the collection of big data in various fields, leading to an increase in variables and data points. However, this also introduces the problem of multicollinearity, which can be mitigated through variable selection methods and modified estimator methods. Recent studies suggest that optimization approaches using machine learning may handle multicollinearity better than traditional statistical estimators.

Global cancer statistics 2020: GLOBOCAN estimates of incidence and mortality worldwide for 36 cancers in 185 countries

Hyuna Sung et al.

Summary: The global cancer burden in 2020 saw an estimated 19.3 million new cancer cases and almost 10.0 million cancer deaths. Female breast cancer surpassed lung cancer as the most commonly diagnosed cancer, while lung cancer remained the leading cause of cancer death. These trends are expected to rise in 2040, with transitioning countries experiencing a larger increase compared to transitioned countries due to demographic changes and risk factors associated with globalization and a growing economy. Efforts to improve cancer prevention measures and provision of cancer care in transitioning countries will be crucial for global cancer control.
