Museal Indoor Air Quality and Public Health: An Integrated Approach for Exhibits Preservation and Ensuring Human Health

Summary: The quality of indoor microclimate in museums has a significant impact on the health and comfort of visitors and employees, as well as the preservation of exhibits. This study investigated the indoor microclimate in a historic museum in Romania and found a high level of fungal contamination. The use of essential oils was identified as a cost-effective and non-invasive solution for cleaning exhibits and reducing health risks.
