Structural and morphological tuning of Cu-based metal oxide nanoparticles by a facile chemical method and highly electrochemical sensing of sulphite

CuO exhibited promising electrocatalytic activity in the oxidation of sulphite, with a linear increase in peak current from 0.2 to 15 mM and sensitivity and detection limit of 48.5 mu A cm(-2) mM(-1) and 1.8 mu M, respectively. Finally, the practical utility of CuO modified electrode was demonstrated in the estimation of sulphite in commercial wine samples.
