Formation mechanism of environmental protection behaviours of community residents A system dynamics perspective

Ruihua Xu et al.

Summary: This paper aims to analyze the characteristics of environmental protection behaviors of community residents from the perspective of system dynamics. Through simulation, it is found that there are continuous and interactional feedback processes among environmental improvement intervention strategies, living context, environmental behavioral intention, and environmental protection behaviors. The study highlights the importance of nonlinear and dynamic interactions among influencing factors for a better understanding of community residents' environmental protection behaviors.

Application of HFACS and grounded theory for identifying risk factors of air traffic controllers' unsafe acts

Ruihua Xu et al.

Summary: Unsafe acts of air traffic controllers are caused by various factors, including environmental factors, organizational influences, unsafe supervision, and controllers' states. The most common risk factors are technical environment, mental states, and business ability, leading to errors and violations in their actions. By combining HFACS framework and grounded theory, a more comprehensive conceptual model of risk factors for ATCers' unsafe acts can be obtained.

The role of leadership in air traffic safety employees' safety behavior

Anna Katharina Schopf et al.

Summary: The study revealed a significant negative association between supervisors' trustworthiness and employees' safety citizenship behavior. None of the other hypothesized relationships were significant. Additionally, the specific ATC context may necessitate different processes than other industries.

Risk prediction and early warning for air traffic controllers' unsafe acts using association rule mining and random forest

Ruihua Xu et al.

Summary: In this study, the methods of correlation analysis and nonlinear modeling were used to scientifically predict and warn air traffic controllers' unsafe acts based on previous prediction and early warning studies. The results show that the association rule mining and random forest model can effectively predict ATCers' errors and violations.

A human-centred approach based on functional near-infrared spectroscopy for adaptive decision-making in the air traffic control environment: A case study

Qinbiao Li et al.

Summary: This study proposed a human-centered adaptive decision-making methodology that combines subjective and objective measurements through intelligent automation to enhance the intelligence and user adaptability of the ATC system. A case study of radar map operation was described to illustrate the method's feasibility and effectiveness, showing that it could capture subjective and objective data and provide real-time online feedback.

Air traffic forecast and its impact on runway capacity. A System Dynamics approach

Diana C. Tascon et al.

Summary: The air traffic in Colombia has experienced uninterrupted growth since the 1990s, driven by a policy of airspace liberalization and investment in airport modernization. The country's main airport, Bogotá-El Dorado International Airport, is expected to reach capacity soon, leading to plans for a new complementary airport in the outskirts of the city. System Dynamics is considered an appropriate approach for forecasting traffic and evaluating runway capacity.

Classification and quantification of human error in air traffic control: a case study in an airport control tower

Gholam Abbas Shirali et al.

Summary: The study explored human error in an airport control tower through the TRACEr and CARA methods, finding that errors in selection and quality, memory, distraction, and traffic had the highest percentage rates. Emergency situation management had the highest probability of error. This research is the first to classify and quantify human errors in ATC using these methods.
