Two-stage robust optimization for practical reactive power in distribution network based on multiple constraint convex approximation

Xi Zeng et al.

Summary: In this study, a two-stage robust optimization at the hourly level is proposed to minimize network loss without the need for minute-level optimization. A simple data-based method is proposed for modeling multiple uncertainty, and a pseudo-decoupling dispatch strategy is used to approximate the separation of reactive power and uncertainty to obtain practical reactive power. The proposed method demonstrates effectiveness through simulation results.

Improved resilience measure for component recovery priority in power grids

Guanghan Bai et al.

Summary: A new research direction has emerged to quickly recover power grids after disasters due to the complexity of power grids and the potential for large-scale economic losses from component failures. This study proposes an improved measure of power grid resilience and the corresponding importance measures for prioritizing the recovery of failed components post-disaster. Analyzing data from the 2019 Power Yearbook of cities in Shandong Province, China, the study demonstrates varying recovery priorities for components with different importance measures, thus proving the feasibility of the proposed method to evaluate power grid resilience under different repair conditions.

Resilience Assessment of Distribution Systems Integrated With Distributed Energy Resources

Prajjwal Gautam et al.

Summary: The resilience of electric systems is gaining attention due to increased vulnerability caused by frequent extreme climactic conditions attributed to global warming effects. This paper presents a method to develop probabilistic extreme event model, impact assessment model, and optimal restoration model for active distribution systems, using a non-sequential Monte Carlo Simulation framework. The proposed approach incorporates time-varying demand, renewable energy output, and energy storage characteristics to enhance system resilience.
