Short- and long-term prognosis of glycemic control in COVID-19 patients with type 2 diabetes

K. Zhan et al.

Summary: Glycemic control is significantly associated with both short-term and long-term outcomes in COVID-19 patients with type 2 diabetes. Well-controlled blood glucose can reduce the risk of death, intensive care unit admission, mechanical ventilation, disease progression, and composite outcome. It also decreases the risk of respiratory sequelae.

Severity of COVID-19 infection in ACEI/ARB users in specialty hospitals: A retrospective cohort study

Ahmed A. Alrashed et al.

Summary: The use of ACEI/ARB medications in severe COVID-19 patients is associated with an increased risk of developing critical or severe COVID-19, admission to the intensive care unit, and requiring noninvasive ventilation. This risk is particularly evident in patients with diabetes, hypertension, and/or renal disease.
