Influence mechanism of lumped masses on the flutter behavior of structures

Summary: This study investigates the influence of lumped masses on the aeroelastic behaviors of 2D panels in supersonic airflow and proposes a design method using lumped masses. The effects of weight and location of lumped masses on flutter stability are analyzed, and an optimal range is determined. Additionally, a structural optimization method based on axially functionally graded design is proposed to improve aeroelastic stability.

Flutter Control of Long Span Suspension Bridges in Time Domain Using Optimized TMD

Summary: Long-span suspension bridges are vulnerable to dynamic events, such as air flow, which can cause flutter. Tuned mass damper (TMD) is an effective passive device for controlling flutter, and its performance can be enhanced through parameter optimization. In this study, TMD was optimized using meta-heuristic algorithms to control flutter in long-span bridges, with successful results.
