Darcy-Forchheimer higher-order slip flow of Eyring-Powell nanofluid with nonlinear thermal radiation and bioconvection phenomenon

Muhammad Mubashir Bhatti et al.

Summary: In this study, the application of slip phenomenon in a non-Newtonian Eyring-Powell nanofluid model confined by a stretching sheet was investigated. Numerical simulations showed that the slip parameter controls the velocity and improves the heat and mass transportation phenomenon. The concentration of nanoparticles increases with inertial forces and activation energy. Moreover, bioconvection decreases the microorganism profile, while higher values of the slip parameter result in an increasing trend.

Hybrid nanofluid flow towards an elastic surface with tantalum and nickel nanoparticles, under the influence of an induced magnetic field

Lijun Zhang et al.

Summary: The physical behavior of a nanofluid composed of kerosene and tantalum and nickel nanoparticles propagating through a porous, elastic surface was studied. Results show that the flow propagates faster for higher values of Darcy number and Tantalum nanoparticles, with the magnetic field opposing the fluid motion. The presence of Tantalum and Nickel nanoparticles also leads to a decrease in the thermal boundary layer.

Exponential space-dependent heat generation impact on MHD convective flow of Casson fluid over a curved stretching sheet with chemical reaction

B. Nagaraja et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the impact of exponential space-dependent heat source on Casson fluid flow with MHD over a curved stretching sheet, considering chemical reaction and convective heat and mass flux boundary conditions. By reducing the governing equations to ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations, the numerical technique of Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg method is employed for solution. The results show that curvature parameter influences velocity and concentration profiles positively, while temperature profile shows an inverse relation. Additionally, changes in Casson parameter significantly affect all flow profiles, and thermal and concentration Biot numbers impact temperature and concentration profiles, respectively.

Heat and mass transfer in MHD Williamson nanofluid flow over an exponentially porous stretching surface

Yi-Xia Li et al.

Summary: This study investigates the rate of heat and mass transfer in MHD Williamson nanofluid flow over an exponentially porous stretching surface, with different conditions of heat transfer. The numerical solutions show that the rate of heat transfer decreases with the increase of Brownian motion parameter, while it increases with the increase of thermophoresis parameter. Moreover, the Sherwood number increases with the rising values of the Prandtl number and Lewis number.

Effects of CuO nano powder on performance improvement and entropy production of double-pipe heat exchanger with innovative perforated turbulators

M. E. Nakhchi et al.

Summary: The present numerical study investigates the heat transfer enhancement, entropy generation, and thermal performance of turbulent nanofluids inside double-pipe heat exchangers equipped with novel perforated cylindrical turbulators. The newly proposed perforated turbulators with CuO nanopowder provide significantly higher thermal performance compared to previous studies, with increased viscous entropy generation as the Reynolds number is increased. Turbulent kinetic energy decreases with higher perforated index, primarily due to jet formation near walls and perforations.
