Ultrastable Covalent Triazine Organic Framework Based on Anthracene Moiety as Platform for High-Performance Carbon Dioxide Adsorption and Supercapacitors

Mohamed Gamal Mohamed et al.

Summary: Conductive and porous nitrogen-rich materials have potential as supercapacitor electrodes. A porous covalent triazine framework (An-CTFs) was synthesized based on 9,10-dicyanoanthracene (An-CN) units, yielding microporous materials with high surface areas. These An-CTFs exhibited high capacitance, cycle stability, and CO2 adsorption capacity, making them a promising option for electrochemical energy storage and CO2 uptake.

Summary: In this study, we synthesized three 1,3,4-oxadiazole-linked conjugated microporous polymers (OXD-CMPs) through classic Sonogashira couplings. These OXD-CMPs interacted with single-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) through noncovalent pi-pi interactions, forming OXD-CMP/CNT composites suitable for supercapacitor devices.

Secondary Structures of Polypeptide-Based Diblock Copolymers Influence the Microphase Separation of Templates for the Fabrication of Microporous Carbons

Ahmed F. M. EL-Mahdy et al.

Summary: The study synthesized PEO-b-PBLG rod-coil diblock copolymers with α-helical and hexagonally packed cylinder secondary structures, and the blending with resol-type phenolic resin affected the structure of the PEO segment but not the PBLG segment. Microporous carbons prepared from the blends exhibited excellent supercapacitor performance due to the influence of PBLG segment secondary structure rather than block phase separation.

Mohammed G. Kotp et al.

Summary: Conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) are promising light harvesters for photocatalytic H2 evolution due to their simple preparation and various band gaps. By selecting different geometries of multibrominated monomers, four triphenylpyridine-based CMPs were synthesized with controlled electron enrichment, porosities, and optoelectronic properties. Among them, TPP-Py CMP exhibited the highest photocatalytic performance under visible light irradiation, with high surface area, thermal stability, hydrogen production rate, and quantum yield.
