This recent review highlights the synthetic utility of bis-(4-amino-5-mercapto[1,2,4] triazoles) as versatile building blocks for the synthesis of diverse bis-fused [1,2,4]triazoles and pharmacological polymeric materials. The synthesis of macrocycles containing [1,2,4]triazole subunits is also demonstrated. The review encompasses the period from 2000 to February 2022.
The current review presents recent progress in the synthetic utility of bis-(4-amino-5-mercapto[1,2,4] triazoles) as building blocks for a diverse range of bis-fused [1,2,4]triazoles such as; bis-(triazolo-thiadiazoles), bis(triazolo-thiadiazines), bis(triazolo-thiadiazepines), and polymeric materials with pharmacological interest. Also, synthesis of macrocycles, containing [1,2,4]triazole subunits were demonstrated. All of these topics are drawn in this review during the period from 2000 to February 2022.
