Charged lepton flavor violation in light of muon g-2

Wei-Shu Hou et al.

Summary: The recent confirmation of the muon g - 2 anomaly may lead to a new era in mu and tau physics. Using a general two Higgs doublet model, the discrepancy can be explained, leading to enhanced rates of charged lepton flavor violating processes. Further experiments are needed to explore these predictions and potentially access new physics beyond the Standard Model.

Implications of the Muon g-2 result on the flavour structure of the lepton mass matrix

Lorenzo Calibbi et al.

Summary: The Muon g-2 experiment at Fermilab confirmed the possibility of new physics at low energy scales and indicated that low energy could potentially explain the discrepancy with the Standard Model predictions of the anomalous magnetic moment. In addition, lepton flavor violating processes can also constrain the flavor symmetries predicting these structures, as shown by the experiment.

Predictions for axion couplings from ALP cogenesis

Raymond T. Co et al.

Summary: By adding the axion-like particle (ALP) to the Standard Model and considering the field velocity in the early universe, researchers have proposed the ALP cogenesis theory to explain the densities of baryons and dark matter simultaneously, with predicted couplings between ALP and photons, nucleons, and/or electrons. The predicted couplings are orders of magnitude larger than those for the QCD axion and conventional ALP misalignment mechanism for dark matter. As a result, ALP cogenesis is within reach of future experimental ALP searches and dark matter studies.

Summary: The experiment presented the first results of the Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL) Muon g - 2 Experiment for the positive muon magnetic anomaly a(mu) (g(mu) - 2)/2, which determined the anomaly from precision measurements of two angular frequencies. The result showed a deviation of 3.3 standard deviations from the standard model prediction, in agreement with previous measurements, increasing the tension between experiment and theory.

Charged lepton flavor violation in light of the muon magnetic moment anomaly and colliders

Tong Li et al.

Summary: Observations of charged lepton flavor violation suggest the presence of new physics beyond the Standard Model in the charged lepton sector, which may impact the muon magnetic moment. By studying the general Standard Model Lagrangian of Delta L = 0 bileptons with CLFV couplings, researchers have investigated the relationship between low-energy precision experiments and colliders in light of the muon magnetic moment anomaly. The sensitivity of the LHC, MACE experiment, muonium-antimuonium conversion experiment, and muon collider in probing unexplored parameter space via the CLFV process has been demonstrated.

Wash-In Leptogenesis

Valerie Domcke et al.

Summary: This mechanism, wash-in leptogenesis, operates at low masses of right-handed neutrinos without requiring CP violation, even in the regime of strong wash-out. By generalizing standard freeze-out leptogenesis to a nonminimal cosmological background, it allows for the generation of a nonvanishing B - L asymmetry using chemical potentials generated at high temperatures.

Spontaneous CP violation and horizontal symmetry in the MSSM: toward lepton flavor naturalness

Daniel Aloni et al.

Summary: We study the contributions of supersymmetric models with a U(1) horizontal symmetry and only spontaneous CP breaking to lepton flavor observables, showing that a horizontal symmetry and lack of explicit CP violation can alleviate existing bounds. The undetermined O(1) coefficients in such mass matrix models complicate the interpretation of the bounds from flavor observables, leading to the definition of a new fine-tuning measure for different observables to study the naturalness of observed flavor observables in given mass matrix models. Our flavor-naturalness measure is used in studying supersymmetric models to quantify the degree of fine tuning required by the bounds from various lepton flavor observables at different mass scales.

New perspective in searching for axionlike particles from flavor physics

Hiroyuki Ishida et al.

Summary: A new perspective has been proposed for the search of axionlike particles (ALPs) through measurements in quark and lepton flavor physics, particularly focusing on the sweetest spots at around the pion mass scale where unexplored loopholes exist in the ALP parameter space. Proposed complementary probes can accurately determine the ALP coupling to photons at these sweetest spots/loopholes, helping to cover the entire parameter space in the ALP search, including existing loopholes in the future.
