Femtosecond pulse generation from external cavity diode laser based on self-mode-locking

M. Ali Alloush et al.

Summary: This Letter discusses optical pulse generation from a single-section diode gain chip in an external cavity geometry based on the self-mode-locking regime. The system emits light at 1550 nm wavelength range and can achieve an optical pulse width of approximately 650 fs by adjusting the repetition rates of the external cavity. Additionally, it demonstrates low RF spectral width and low pulse-to-pulse RMS timing jitter.

A Tunable Synchronous Pulsed Dual-Wavelength Laser Based on the Nd:YVO4/Nd:GdVO4 Combined Crystals Pair

Yizhi Ke et al.

Summary: A tunable pulsed dual-wavelength laser is introduced with synchronized dual-wavelength laser pulses obtained at 1063 nm and 1064 nm. By adjusting the operating parameters and steady-state temperature of the crystal pair, the frequency separation between the dual-wavelength laser pulses can be gradually decreased while maintaining stable relative peak powers and time synchronization of the pulses.

Self-mode-locked alexandrite femtosecond lasers with multi-GHz repetition rates

Rulin Miao et al.

Summary: In this study, we demonstrate the first laser-diode pumped multi-gigahertz self-mode-locked alexandrite femtosecond lasers. Stable mode-locked laser with a repetition rate of 3.6 GHz and a pulse width of 237 fs, as well as second-harmonic mode-locked pulse with a repetition rate of 7.5 GHz and a pulse width of 201 fs, were successfully achieved. This laser offers high repetition rate and short pulse width, making it suitable for promising applications in modern ultrafast photonics.

High-repetition pulsed Nd:YVO4 laser based on the multi-longitudinal-mode beat note

Yiwen Jin et al.

Summary: Experimental results show that more longitudinal modes beating in the laser cavity lead to narrower laser pulse duration. Using an adjustable aperture in the laser cavity can weaken transverse mode interference and improve laser pulse train stability. By slightly tuning the Nd:YVO4 crystal temperature, a high-repetition laser pulse with 1.56 GHz and 0.18-ns time duration is achieved with certain output power and efficiency values.
