Generation of dark solitons in a self-mode-locked Tm-Ho doped fiber laser

Summary: This paper presents the first experimental demonstration of self-mode-locked dark solitons in a Tm-Ho doped fiber laser at 1.93 μm. The dark solitons are generated by exploiting the reverse saturable excited-state absorption of a gain fiber, achieving higher power and damage threshold compared to conventional methods. Simulation results confirm the generation of stable dark solitons with high average power using this approach.

Summary: The study demonstrated the generation of high energy picosecond pulses from a low repetition rate SESAM mode-locked laser seeded Yb-doped fiber MOPA system. By using a short large mode field diameter gain fiber to efficiently reduce nonlinear effects, the system achieved a maximum pulse energy of 12.36 mu J and high peak power with narrow bandwidth at a repetition rate of 5 MHz. The simulation results agreed with the experiment but also showed spectral splitting would occur as output power increased.

Summary: We demonstrated an all-fiber Er-doped Mamyshev oscillator with short pulse duration and low mode-locking threshold based on an external seed. The experimental results suggest that the proposed laser shows potential applications in laser communication and biosensing fields.

Summary: An all-polarization-maintaining compact passively mode-locked fiber laser was proposed in this study, using a PM WDM-isolator-tap hybrid device to achieve stable laser output. With this simple structure, a 1.085 ps soliton pulse was generated.

High-energy, nanosecond orange laser at 604 nm based on Pr:YLF crystal at room temperature

Summary: The study proposed a compact experimental scheme for generating high-energy 604 nm laser using Pr:YLF crystal at room temperature. Through simulation, it was demonstrated that high energy 604 nm laser can be generated with specific parameters. An experimental stable 604 nm orange laser with high pulse energy and short pulse duration was successfully developed using a pulsed 444 nm optical parametric oscillator as the pump source. This is the first report of such high-energy 604 nm laser at room temperature.
