Accelerating Anode Reaction with Electro-oxidation of Alcohols over Ru Nanoparticles to Reduce the Potential for Water Splitting

Pei Zhu et al.

Summary: By utilizing Ru nanoparticles on N-doped carbon nanotubes to catalyze the electro-oxidation of benzyl alcohol, the anodic potential in water-splitting was effectively reduced, leading to increased hydrogen production and achieving high selectivity and yield of benzaldehyde. The unique adsorption configuration and activation rate of benzyl alcohol on the catalyst surface contributed to the high performance of Ru-NPs in this process.

Construction of Six-Oxygen-Coordinated Single Ni Sites on g-C3N4 with Boron-Oxo Species for Photocatalytic Water-Activation-Induced CO2 Reduction

Yuying Wang et al.

Summary: The configuration regulation of single-atom photocatalysts plays a crucial role in the interfacial charge transfer and catalytic process for CO2 reduction. This study successfully anchored single Ni atoms onto g-C3N4 nanosheets, providing a highly efficient photocatalyst for aqueous CO2 reduction. Various experimental techniques revealed that the six-oxygen-coordinated single Ni (II) sites can efficiently capture photoelectrons and activate water molecules to induce a hydrogen-assisted CO2 reduction.

FeOx clusters decorated hcp Ni nanosheets as inverse electrocatalyst to stimulate excellent oxygen evolution performance

Wenxiu Yan et al.

Summary: This study utilized room-temperature plasma to convert Fe3+-doped Ni(OH)(2) nanosheets into porous hcp Ni engineered by FeOx clusters, forming Ni-O-Fe bonds to catalyze the oxygen evolution reaction. The interaction between FeOx clusters and Ni interface stimulated the generation of active intermediates, promoting the OER rate.
