Field-programmable gate arrays in a low power vision system

Summary: Field-programmable gate arrays are crucial in developing low power electronic systems, but the requirements for high performance, reduced size, and low power consumption pose a challenge for designers. This study proposes the use of Dynamic Partial Reconfiguration technique to switch between two edge detection algorithms in a computer vision algorithm and demonstrates the feasibility of low power consumption in computer vision through experimental results. Xilinx Ultrascale+ZCU106 is used as the implementation target due to its 4% lower power consumption during runtime.
