Co-disposal of MSWI fly ash and lead-zinc smelting slag through alkali-activation technology

Summary: This study successfully synthesized an alkali-activated cementitious material (AAFL) based on co-disposal of MSWI fly ash and lead-zinc smelting slag (LZSS), which are solid wastes containing heavy metals. The experimental results showed that the compressive strength of AAFL increased with the SiO2/Na2O molar ratio and alkali content, but decreased with the liquid-solid ratio and initial curing temperature. The immobilization ratios of Zn, Pb and Cu in AAFL were all above 97%, and heavy metals were mainly immobilized through physical encapsulation.

Synthesis of NaA-zeolite microspheres by conversion of geopolymer and their performance of Pb (II) removal

The leached ion fraction was lower in geopolymers prepared with the hybrid hydrothermal-sintering process, reducing Cs+ volatilization during sintering.
