Wild bees as winners and losers: Relative impacts of landscape composition, quality, and climate

Melanie Kammerer et al.

Summary: Wild bees, like many other taxa, face threats from land-use and climate change, impacting pollination of crops and wild plants. Climate factors emerged as the main drivers of wild-bee abundance and richness in the Northeast USA, with warmer winters, intense precipitation, and longer growing seasons leading to lower abundance of wild bees. Understanding the interactions between land-use and climate factors, as well as the varying responses of different bee genera and functional groups, is essential for predicting and managing pollinator populations in the face of changing climate conditions.
