Autofluorescence free detection of carcinoembryonic antigen in pleural effusion by persistent luminescence nanoparticle-based aptasensors

Summary: Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is an important biomarker for cancer diagnosis. A novel fluorescence aptasensor was designed using near-infrared persistent luminescence nanoparticles (PLNPs) for accurate detection of CEA in pleural effusion. The sensor effectively eliminates the interference from autofluorescence and has high accuracy and low detection limit.

Photochromic immunoassay for tumor marker detection based on ZnO/AgI nanophotocatalyst

Summary: A photochromic immunoassay based on ZnO/AgI nanophotocatalyst was developed for tumor marker detection. The color development is achieved by the oxidation of tetramethyl benzidine (TMB) solution by ZnO/AgI nanomaterials driven by visible light irradiation. A sandwich-type immunoassay using ZnO/AgI nanomaterial as labels showed good performance for the detection of carcinoma embryonic antigen (CEA).

Bimodal Multiplexed Detection of Tumor Markers in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer with Polymer Dot-Based Immunoassay

Summary: Semiconducting polymer nanoparticles (Pdots) are promising probes for use in fluorometric immunochromatographic test strips (ICTS) due to their ultrahigh brightness, minimal nonspecific adsorption, and multicolor availability. A bimodal readout ICTS platform based on gold-Pdot nanohybrids was developed for the detection of abnormal biomarkers in lung cancer patients' blood, providing rapid qualitative screening and advanced quantitative measurements with high detection sensitivity. The accuracy and reliability of this ICTS platform were demonstrated with clinical serum samples, showing good consistency with results from electrochemiluminescence immunoassays.
