Ni3C/Ni Nanochains for Electrochemical Sensing of Glucose

Feng Gao et al.

Summary: In this study, facile synthesis of one-dimensional Ni3C/Ni nanochains with excellent electrocatalytic oxidation for glucose was achieved through a simple solvothermal method. The Ni3C component in the nanochains was identified as the critical catalytic site for glucose oxidation, while the metallic Ni promoted electron-transfer kinetics. The sensor based on Ni3C/Ni nanochains showed wide linear range, low detection limit, and high sensitivity for glucose sensing analysis, making it a promising candidate for clinical applications.

Electrode modified with nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots supported in chitosan for triclocarban monitoring

Edson R. Santana et al.

Summary: A sensitive electroanalytical tool was developed for the detection of triclocarban by modifying a glassy carbon substrate with nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots immobilized in chitosan, showing excellent oxidation current responses. The calibration plot for triclocarban in phosphate buffer solution ranged from 0.05 to 8.0 mu mol L-1, with detection and quantification limits of 17.0 and 57.0 nmol L-1, respectively. The modified electrode achieved accurate quantification of triclocarban in personal care products with recovery data ranging from 90 to 109%.

Revealing the effect of multidimensional ZnO@CNTs/RGO composite for enhanced electrochemical detection of flufenamic acid

Xavier Benadict Joseph et al.

Summary: The rational design of heteroarchitecture-based ultrasonic approaches provides great opportunities for enhancing electrocatalytic properties in electrochemical reactions. Specifically, the synthesis of flower-like ZnO superstructures on multiwalled carbon nanotubes (CNTs)/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) composite using an ultrasonic bath has shown promising results. The resulting ZnO@CNTs/RGO composite exhibits excellent electrocatalytic performance for detecting the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, flufenamic acid (FFA), highlighting the positive synergistic effect among ZnO, CNTs, and RGO in the composite.
