Comparison of Pb(II) Adsorption by Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace and Phosphorus Slags; Exploitation of RSM

Jafar Shafaghat et al.

Summary: In this study, the performance of two low-cost industrial products in removing lead from an aqueous solution was compared, with ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBFS) being more efficient than phosphorus slag (PS) under the same conditions. The most influential parameter on the adsorption capacity was the adsorbent weight, while other parameters had no significant effects, and the influence of rotation rate was only observed at low adsorbent weights.

Performance optimisation of forward-osmosis membrane system using machine learning for the treatment of textile industry wastewater

K. Aghilesh et al.

Summary: In this study, machine learning techniques were used to model and optimize FO process for treating textile industry wastewater with fertilizer as the draw solution. Experimental validation showed that the FO process performed well under optimal conditions, with models developed by ANN and RSM showing greater precision in predicting water flux and reverse salt flux compared to other models.

A review of treatment technologies for produced water in offshore oil and gas fields

Yiqian Liu et al.

Summary: Offshore oil and gas production has led to the increase in popularity of produced water (PW), the largest byproduct of this industry. PW, a complex mixture of organic and inorganic substances, contributes significantly to oil pollution and has long-term adverse effects on the ecosystem. Current PW treatment methods combine traditional technologies with emerging methods, with a focus on enhancing treatment with environmentally friendly chemical agents and information control technology to create a green, efficient, secure, and intelligent PW treatment system for future offshore oil and gas production.

Analysis of square threading process by using response surface methodology

S. Karuppusamy et al.

Summary: The study aims to analyze the difference between Square thread and pilot V grooved square thread in terms of maximizing surface finish, as well as determine responses such as Material Removal Rate, Surface Roughness, and Forces. The analysis shows that the pilot V grooved square thread is superior to the square thread, with higher levels of various forces and Material Removal Rate, and lower surface roughness.
