Study of comprehensive shielding behaviors of chambersite deposit for neutron and gamma ray

Mengge Dong et al.

Summary: The comprehensive shielding behaviors of chambersite deposit in China for neutron and gamma ray were systematically analyzed for the first time. The results showed that the chambersite deposit has excellent shielding performance for high energy and low energy neutrons, and its gamma ray shielding ability is between steel-magnetite concrete and ilmenite concrete. The prepared sample of chambersite deposit has better shielding performance for both thermal neutron and gamma ray compared to other materials.

Synthesis and study of structural, optical and radiation-protective peculiarities of MTiO3 (M = Ba, Sr) metatitanate ceramics mixed with SnO2 oxide

E. Hannachi et al.

Summary: A series of novel metatitanate ceramics mixed with SnO2 were successfully prepared through the solid-state reaction route, showing different crystal structures and lattice parameters. Optical properties analysis revealed that all ceramics had optical band gap E-g values in the range of 3.0-3.3 eV, while radiation shielding results indicated that the ceramics were good attenuators at low energies.

Impact of Bi2O3 modifier concentration on barium-zincborate glasses: physical, structural, elastic, and radiation-shielding properties

K. A. Naseer et al.

Summary: A series of Bi2O3 varying BZX glasses were fabricated by melt-quenching method and examined for their physical, structural, elastic, and radiation-shielding properties. With increasing Bi2O3 concentration, the BZX glasses exhibited higher ionic nature and linear attenuation coefficient values. Among the investigated samples, BZ30 glass was identified as the more effective shield due to its highest MAC and LAC values.

Determination of structural features of different Perovskite ceramics and investigation of ionizing radiation shielding properties

Y. Slimani et al.

Summary: This study investigated the structural and radiation shielding properties of two groups of perovskite ceramics, analyzing their structure using Fourier transform infrared and X-ray diffraction. Different radiation shielding parameters were used to assess their ability to absorb radiation within a specific energy range. The results showed that BaTiO3-ZrO2 had excellent gamma-ray stopping capacity, while SrMnO3-TeO2 was effective in neutron prevention.

(BaTiO3)1-x + (Co0.5Ni0.5Nb0.06Fe1.94O4)x nanocomposites: Structure, morphology, magnetic and dielectric properties

Summary: Two-phase nanocomposites of BTO and CNNFO were synthesized using solid state route. XRD analysis showed that with increasing CNNFO content, BTO crystallite size decreased while CNNFO size increased, leading to reduced porosity and enhanced grain connectivity. Optical properties revealed a decrease in band gap energy with increasing CNNFO content, and analysis of magnetic and dielectric properties indicated a significant impact of CNNFO on BTO material.
