Tensile deformation behavior of ferrite-bainite dual-phase pipeline steel

Xingyang Tu et al.

Summary: The study found that heterogeneous deformation facilitated the formation of subregions with crystal orientation deviation within grains, and separated grains by forming new grain boundaries. The PF grains exhibited high orientation stability at high strain levels, and coordination deformation among grains was controlled by strain hardening behavior.

Study of microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of 1000 MPa low-carbon microalloyed steel prepared by multiple quenching strategies near Ms

Xiangyun Zhang et al.

Summary: The QNP treatments near Ms have been proven effective in achieving a desirable combination of strength and ductility in low-carbon microalloyed steel. Ultra-high strength bainitic steel was produced at 420 degrees C, with high yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, and total elongation. The microstructure consists of bainitic ferrite, martensite/austenite constituents, and retained austenite.

Microstructure, Mechanical Properties, and Corrosion Behavior of Ultra-Low Carbon Bainite Steel with Different Niobium Content

Yun Zong et al.

Summary: Four types of ultra-low carbon bainite (ULCB) steels were investigated to solely study the impact of niobium content on their performance. Results showed that niobium content affects the steel's microstructure, mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance. Steels with higher niobium content exhibited smoother and denser corrosion products on the surface during corrosion process.

Unraveling the effects of Nb interface segregation on ferrite transformation kinetics in low carbon steels

Haokai Dong et al.

Summary: This study quantitatively investigated the amount of Nb segregation, energy dissipation, NbC precipitates, and interface velocity in Fe-0.08C-(0.035, 0.061)Nb model alloys. Results showed that energy dissipation at the migrating interface decreased with longer holding time or higher transformation temperature, and Nb atoms preferred to segregate at the non K-S interface. The occurrence of NbC interphase precipitation indirectly affected transformation kinetics by weakening the SDE via consumption of Nb solutes in ferrite.

Effect of Nb on Microstructural Evolution and Mechanical Properties of Hot-Rolled Quenching and Partitioning Steels Containing Bainite

Zhisong Chai et al.

Summary: The effect of Nb content on the phase transformation kinetics, microstructure, and mechanical properties of hot-rolled quenching and partitioning (Q&P) steel has been investigated. Results show that an increase in Nb content leads to an increase in ultimate tensile strength (UTS) but a decrease in elongation at break.
