Viscosity and fragility of selected glass-forming chalcogenides

Petr Kostal et al.

Summary: Experimental viscosity data for (GeSe2)x(Sb2Se3)100-x melts obtained by PAMFT were fitted using the MYEGA equation over a broad temperature range. The study analyzed fragility concepts for the studied glass-forming system and developed a simple procedure for viscosity data extrapolation, discussing its validity.

A novel view on classification of glass-forming liquids and empirical viscosity model

Bulat N. Galimzyanov et al.

Summary: Studies have revealed universal regularities in the viscosity-temperature data of glass-forming liquids, and a viscosity model with only two adjustable parameters has been proposed to accurately approximate experimental data over a wide temperature range. The model is based on an original temperature scale, and the transformed Angell plot obtained within the scaling description helps reconsider the classification of some liquids as fragile glass-formers. The results obtained form the basis for developing a generalized scaling description of crystallization kinetics in supercooled liquids and glasses.
