This study investigated the effects of ultrasonic irradiation on nanoporous gold structures and found that it induces coarsening similar to the process of annealing.
We investigated the effects of ultrasonic irradiation (UI) on nanoporous (NP) Au structures fabricated by deal-loying. To this aim, we leaned an ultrasonic horn against the sample surface and carried out experiments at different temperature. We found that UI induces coarsening, analogously to the process driven by annealing.
