Cobalt doping on nickel ferrite nanocrystals enhances the micro-structural and magnetic properties: Shows a correlation between them

Simi Debnath et al.

Summary: PVP capped nickel ferrite nanocrystals (NFN) and cobalt doped nickel ferrite nanocrystals (CNFN) were successfully prepared using thermal heat treatment method, followed by sintering at 700 degrees C. The synthesized nanocrystals were analyzed through XRD, TEM and SEM to study their structural, morphological and magnetic properties. The study showed increase in saturation magnetization and coercivity values with Co doping in NFN, indicating potential applications in memory devices, magnetic recording media and adsorption of toxic materials in water.

Flattening of free energy profile and enhancement of energy storage efficiency near morphotropic phase boundary in lead-free BZT-xBCT

Rajat Syal et al.

Summary: Lead-free BZT-xBCT compositions near the morphotropic phase boundary were synthesized using the sol-gel technique, revealing the effects of BCT concentration on structure, properties, and energy storage capacity. The x = 0.55 composition exhibited the smallest grain size and high energy storage density. The findings suggest that active polarization rotation mechanism plays a key role in achieving high electro-mechanical response in the BZT-xBCT system.

Enhanced magnetoelectric coupling in environmental friendly lead-free Ni0.8Zn0.2Fe2O4-Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.1Ti0.9O3 laminate composites

Pankhuri Bansal et al.

Summary: Lead-free piezomagnetic-piezoelectric laminate composites using Ni0.8Zn0.2Fe2O4(NZFO) and Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.1Ti0.9O3(BCZT) showed improved magnetoelectric properties. The solid-state method was used for synthesis and X-ray diffraction patterns confirmed phase coexistence. Scanning electron microscopy revealed surface morphology and chemical composition. These composites exhibited high dielectric constant, significant electromechanical coupling factor, and well-saturated polarization, making them promising for future multifunctional devices.

Magnetoelectric coupling enhancement in lead-free BCTZ-xNZFO composites

Pankhuri Bansal et al.

Summary: In this study, particulate composites of (1 - x)Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.1Ti0.9O3 (BCZT)-xNi(0.8)Zn(0.2)Fe(2)O(4 )(NZFO) were prepared by the conventional solid-state method with x values of 0.2, 0.3, and 0.4. The composites exhibited mixed spinel-perovskite phases, and changes in dielectric properties, magnetic behavior, and magnetoelectric coupling were observed with variations in ferrite content. The highest magnetoelectric coupling coefficient was found in the x = 0.4 composite.
